Art Two-dimensional Comprehensive classes are for first year students using a variety of media. We explore the Elements of Art and Principles of Design and use a four-step Aesthetic Criticism process to discuss and examine a variety of art through time.
Second year art students further develop perceptual, observational, and compositional skills to communicate a range of subject matters and concepts using knowledge of drawing and painting media, processes, and techniques. Students are encouraged to explore visual cultural through language, personal identity, social context, and inquiry.
Photography is a second or third year art course where students develop basic skills in traditional photography and creative approaches in photographic imagery, processes, and alternative techniques.
Students in Portfolio classes have two or more years of art and have been recommended by an instructor.
Each student chooses a medium or area of concentration and produces a diverse range of finished pieces, an artist statement, a resume, slides, and a digital compilation of work.
